BYD, a manufacturer of electric vehicles in China, intends to grow its business there. The company’s BYD Atto 3 Electric SUV aims to break into the mainstream EV market. BYD India’s senior vice president, Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, said that the company intends to introduce the BYD Atto 3 Electric SUV over the upcoming holiday season. After seeing a positive reaction from corporate clients for its E6 MPV, BYD is now trying to diversify into the personal buyer’s market.

Along with other amenities, the BYDe6 Atto has an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistant System) that includes adaptive cruise control, collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, lane assist, rear cross traffic alert & braking, and others.

The exterior of the BYD ATTO 3 is designed to be modern without being excessive. The car’s wheels may be the only feature that distinguishes it as an unique vehicle, in this case, an electric vehicle. Apart from that, it has a fairly European appearance, and from our initial views, it is a good-looking vehicle.

Despite its price, the BYD ATTO 3’s interior is contemporary and well-appointed. Although we haven’t seen one in person to evaluate it, primarily depends on the photographs, we’d give it a better rating than some of its modern competitors. It will be interesting to see if the fit and finish meets expectations and if the infotainment system is reliable and efficient. It’s disappointing that, as far as we can determine, there isn’t Apple CarPlay or Android Auto in such a modern vehicle.

The gearstick, huge screen, steering wheel, and even the buttons on the centre console all have a very trendy, futuristic appearance. We really like the use of multi-tone colours across the interior and the way the speakers emerge from the doors.

BYD Atto 3 Electric SUV Battery

A permanent magnet synchronous motor that generates 204 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque is installed in the new BYD Atto 3 Electric SUV. This electric SUV is said to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in under 7.3 seconds. There are two battery packs available for this electric SUV: 49.93kWh and 60.48kWh. The latter has a WLTP range of 420km, while the former is said to have a range of 320km.
