The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways amended the Union Motor Vehicle Rules 1989. As per the Central Motor Vehicle Eighteenth Amendment Rules, 2018 notified in the Gazette on 20th December, between the ages of 16 to 18 years can get the license for an electric scooter at a maximum speed limit of 70 km/hour.
