The brand-new Yamaha EMF Electric Scooter is Yamaha’s 2nd electric scooter after the EC-05, which was the 1st unveiled globally in 2019. The Yamaha EMF electric scooter will soon be on sale in the Taiwanese market. With the rise in demand for electric vehicles, bigger and bigger players are coming up with their latest battery-powered offerings. The latest to join the league is the Yamaha with its EMF electric scooter which is set to go on sale in the Taiwanese market.

The new EMF is Yamaha’s 2nd after the EC-05, which was the 1st introduced to the world in 2019. The Yamaha EMF is also the 2nd electric vehicle developed in the conjunction with Taiwanese technology and the battery giant Gogoro. For the record, India’s biggest two-wheeler, Hero MotoCorp, has also partnered with Gogoro for its upcoming EVs.

Yamaha EMF E-Scooter Design

The New Yamaha EMF sits on a steel tube frame and features apron-mounted LED spotlights, arrow-shaped mirrors, a one-piece seat, and a cup holder. The scooter packs a digital LED dashboard, an NFC-enabled smart key, and rides on the 10-inch alloy wheels. It has a seat height of 785 mm, weighs 114 kg, and is available in the colors Light Blue, Dark Black, and Dark Green.

Runs on a Yamaha EMF 10hp electric powertrain with a 7.6kW mid-motor attached to a replaceable battery. The configuration offers combined power of 10.1 hp / 26 Nm and allows the vehicle to accelerate from 050 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. Lineup figures have yet to be revealed.

The Yamaha EMF electric scooter uses a mid-motor that generates 10.30 hp of the maximum power at 3000 rpm and 26 Nm of maximum torque at 2500 rpm. It can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 3.5 seconds.

The Yamaha has not yet revealed the maximum speed of the scooter, but it could be around 100 km / h. The range isn’t much of an issue in Taiwan, as the scooter will rely on Gogoro’s extensive battery replacement network. It is estimated that about 97% of electric two-wheelers in Taiwan use Gogoro’s battery swap.

Whenever the battery is gotten low, the all-new Yamaha EMF users can go to the nearby swap station to get a fully charged battery. The overall experience is quite similar to buying gasoline or diesel at a gas station.

the Yamaha EMF has a lightweight frame with high torsional rigidity. It was designed for improved control and handling. The suspension system includes vertical front forks and dual rear shocks. Braking functions are handled by a 200mm disc up front and a 190mm disc upfront. The scooter has CBS for effective braking.

In Taiwan, the Yamaha EMF Electric Scooter electric scooter is available at a starting price of NT $102,800. It is around INR 2.77 lakh. It is unclear if and when the Yamaha EMF will be launched in the Indian market. Here, the first Yamaha electric vehicle will probably be the E01 electric scooter. This was recently spotted in road tests. Yamaha has already registered the names E-01 and EC-05 for the Indian market.
