With the VISION EQXX, Mercedes-Benz is setting new standards in terms of electric range and efficiency. The prototype demonstrates how efficient, sustainable, and luxurious electric mobility can be. The sleek compact sedan is the latest in a long line of design studies by Mercedes-Benz and was conceived to challenge the principles of existing electric vehicles in a program that aims to generate new ideas, processes, and innovations that will be implemented over the years to come.
Mercedes CTO Markus Schafer noted that the concept is a moving and functioning prototype, even with a version of the existing MBUX infotainment system in 2024.
Chief designer Gordon Wagener confirms that the EQXX is “at least one segment smaller” than the recently introduced EQE, which indicates its possible production potential as the electric equivalent of the C-Class.
Despite the fulfillment of all German road approval regulations and the seating for four adults, the EQXX should set a new record in aerodynamic efficiency with an air resistance of less than 0.18 cd compared to the 0.20 cd of the EQS.

- Energy efficiency: Mercedes-Benz engineers were able to achieve a power consumption of less than 10 kWh per 100 km with the EQXX. That is an efficiency of more than 6 miles per kWh.
