With one battery charge, the efficiency champion has a range of more than 1,000 kilometers, which is thanks to the energy consumption of less than 10 kWh per 100 kilometers. <strong>Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX<\/strong> revealed lightweight construction, battery innovations, and new materials.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The sleek compact sedan is the latest in a long line of design studies by Mercedes-Benz and was conceived to challenge the principles of existing electric vehicles in a program that aims to generate new ideas, processes, and innovations that will be implemented over the years to come.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mercedes CTO Markus Schafer noted that the concept is a moving and functioning prototype, even with a version of the existing MBUX infotainment system in 2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chief designer Gordon Wagener confirms that the EQXX is \u201cat least one segment smaller\u201d than the recently introduced EQE, which indicates its possible production potential as the electric equivalent of the C-Class.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Despite the fulfillment of all German road approval regulations and the seating for four adults, the EQXX should set a new record in aerodynamic efficiency with an air resistance of less than 0.18 cd compared to the 0.20 cd of the EQS.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vision EQXX Special Features<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For all details, about the\u00a0 Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX please refer to the detailed post below, but in the following, we describe some of the most important features<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>Energy efficiency<\/strong>: Mercedes-Benz engineers were able to achieve a power consumption of less than 10 kWh per 100 km with the EQXX. That is an efficiency of more than 6 miles per kWh. Mercedes has translated that number into fossil fuel consumption and is comparable to about 1 liter per 100 km or 235 mpg.<\/li>\n<li><strong>New Electric Powertrain<\/strong>: Super efficient, internally developed electric powertrain offers 95% efficiency, i.e. up to 95% of the battery power ends up on the wheels. Today it is the pioneer of the luxury class, the EQS, which sets the world record for the most aerodynamic production vehicle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The VISION EQXX now sets the next milestone with a drag coefficient of just 0.17. From mushrooms to bamboo, cacti to vegan silk, and proves that ultimate automotive luxury is still possible today without using animal products and at the same time creating an inimitable feeling of maximum comfort. Mercedes have succeeded in producing a battery with a capacity of 100 kW in a casing 50% smaller and 30% lighter than the comparable EQS battery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This means that the development of electric vehicles is advancing rapidly and that smaller electric vehicle now has the possibility of enjoying greater range, which has been reserved mainly for larger vehicles, until now.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another aspect that helps the Vision EQXX gain so much radius is its aerodynamics. the world with a Cd value of 0.20 (beating the Lucid Air with its score of 0.21), but the EQXX is the best of that value, with a Cd drag coefficient of 0.17.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There&#8217;s even a &#8220;lightweight F1 subframe&#8221; in play, which Mercedes says &#8220;brings racing efficiency to the road&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We were hoping that would translate into some pretty impressive acceleration and top speed stats, but it doesn&#8217;t. In fact, the Vision EQXX&#8217;s top speed is only 140 km \/ h (around 87 mph), which Mercedes exclusively revealed to TechRadar is the kind of top speed you&#8217;d expect from it a low-budget family car, rather than an ultra-premium Mercedes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, this concept was not built with speed in mind, it is about efficiency and autonomy, and it is certainly achieved in these areas. For the curious, Mercedes claims the Vision EQX can remake 0 100 km \/ h (062 mph) in 7 seconds, barely causing blisters.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Vision EQXX also features a retractable rear diffuser that folds up and extends under the rear of the car at 60km \/ h (then retracts at 30km \/ h) to further improve the efficiency profile of the car&#8217;s rear part.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All of this helps the Vision EQXX achieve its market-leading range of 1,000 km (approx. 620 miles) on a single charge and also supports fast charging which can refuel 300 km (approx. 186 miles). ) in 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The onboard network, which supplies many ancillary units in the VISION EQXX with electricity, draws additional energy from the solar cells on the roof. This reduces the power requirement of the high-voltage system and ultimately leads to more autonomy. Conditions result in an additional range of up to 25 kilometers for long-distance traffic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since it&#8217;s a concept, the electric vehicle won&#8217;t actually hit the market, but Mercedes says it&#8217;s very close to being a production car, as it showcases a range of technologies that will make its way into an electric car of the brand in 2024 or 2025.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During an exclusive press conference with the CTO of Daimler AG for the Vision EQXX, Markus Schafer said that &#8220;several elements of the car are about to go into production.
