In a country like India with rising fuel prices and subsidy programs, electric vehicles have increased. Indian automakers such as Mahindra and Tata have said India could skip the hybrid phase and switch to pure Upcoming Electric SUVs, Cars 2023. Electric vehicles (EVs) are currently the most viable avenue for the automotive industry. Not only are they a greener alternative to fossil fuel cars, but they also have the potential to be more spacious (thanks to their layout).

Electric cars are becoming more and more common in India, with a wide selection of cars and SUVs, such as Audi Q4 E-Tron, BMW iX, Kia EV6, and Mercedes EQS coming to us. We’ve compiled a list of all the upcoming models below.
Audi Q4 e-Tron
The new Q4 e-Tron will most likely be Audi’s fourth electric model to launch in India. Unveiled in April this year, the Q4, just like its big brother e-SUV, is available in standard and Sportback versions.
It is supported by the Volkswagen Group MEB platform and will not be built in an Audi factory but alongside the closely related VW ID.4 in Zwickau, Germany.
It almost sharply divides the difference between the Audi Q3 and Q5 SUVs in height and length, making it a serious competitor to the Volvo XC40 Recharge, lower in the luxury electric vehicle ranking.
In terms of design, both models look impressive, with a beveled front end and pronounced proportions. to other e-Tron models, but in particular, it has a floating center console.
The powertrain options for the e-Tron Q4 SUV and Sportback include a range of rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options, ranging from 170 hp to 299 hp. Both models deliver a driving range between 341km to 497km, depending on the variant.

While not its first autonomous electric vehicle (which was the i3), the BMW iX is the brand’s response to the Jaguar IPace and Audi E-Tron.
The vehicle was developed with a new aluminum space frame that supports a carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) internal structure and a body made from a combination of aluminum, composite plastic, and CFRP.
Extensive styling cues like the large dark grille, frameless doors, fixed B-pillars and tapered greenhouse make it stand out but unmistakably BMW. It has a spacious interior with a flat floor and natural materials. It also uses recycled plastics, including a new microfiber fabric for the seats. Upfront, instruments, and infotainment are grouped into a single, floating, curved digital display, a newly designed head-up display. The center console has been removed, with many controls, including a new version of the BMW iDrive rotary controller, positioned between the seats.

Hyundai Kona Electric Facelift
The quarantine update for the Kona will arrive next year. Much like its predecessor, the refurbished Kona will be assembled locally in India, thanks to the redesigned bumper and redesigned LED headlights.
The profile remains essentially unchanged, although there are new LED taillights and a new bumper at the rear. Not much has changed in terms of interior design, although it does have a few new features such as a larger touch screen infotainment system, a new digital dashboard, and connected car technology.
Mechanically, Kona Electric will continue to have a 39.2 kWh battery with the 136 hp engine, for a range of 304 km. Abroad, there is also a 64 kWh battery version, with a 204 hp engine and a range of 483 km.

Kia will finally begin its EV rounds in India with the EV6, a 5-seater, 4.7m-long crossover with crisp styling and a unique appearance unlike any other Kia model currently on offer.
The EV6 is based on the Hyundai Group EGMP skateboard platform, which is also shared for electric vehicles such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5. The EV6 will be sold in India as a fully imported unit. Upfront, the EV6 has a clamshell hood with slanted headlights flanking a thin grille.
The headlights are fitted with stunning LED daytime running lights that would form the car’s “digital tiger face”, according to Kia. windshield and a tilted Cpillar with wide rear sides, giving it a cross stance.
At the rear, it sports unique taillights that span the width of the trunk lid and taper into the rear side panel. There are also two spoilers at the rear, one mounted on the roof and the other positioned just above the taillights. The EV6 is available in RWD and AWD versions, with the GT top-spec variant delivering up to 585 hp and a top speed of around 260 km / h.

The EQS is the electric equivalent of the S-Class in the brand’s range. Considered one of the quietest electric vehicles on sale, the sleek EQS has a drag coefficient of just 0.20.
Unlike the EQC, which is based on the GLC platform, the EQS is the first model to use Mercedes-Benz’s dedicated Electric Vehicle Architecture (EVA) platform. The EQS has a forward profile, mated to a steeply tilted liftback-type tailgate.
Other key styling cues include a black grille panel surrounded by a pair of angled headlights, themselves connected by a horizontal light bar. Instead of providing front storage space like other bottom-designed EVs, the hood can only be opened during maintenance.
The doors are frameless and feature the same flush handles that are optionally available on the S-Class. The interior is also as luxurious as an S-Class and is dominated by Mercedes’ new Hyperscreen, a curved screen in one piece that extends the width of the dashboard and uses the latest MBUX operating system.
The EQS, of course, has all the attributes of an S-Class and more, and thanks to its EV shape and packaging, it also offers more space. The EQS is equipped with a 107.8 kWh battery, with a single 334 hp engine in the EQS 450 and two engines with a combined output of 523 hp in the EQS 580. The range is estimated at 770 km. The AMG and Maybach versions are expected to follow.

Tata Altroz EV

The Tata Sierra was also one of the cars ahead of its time, and we can still see one on the road if we’re lucky. It’s one of the cars Indian buyers wanted to revive, so Tata unveiled Sierra’s electric concept at Autoexpo 2020. Carries the Impact 2.0 design language and is built on the ALFAARC platform; the price could be similar to that of the Nexon EV with a slight increase. Looks promising based on the same Ziptron powertrain with an expected range of 400 km on a single charge. The concept included black trim on the sides with LED heads and taillights resting on two-tone alloys. It’s a promising electric car coming to India.
Maruti Suzuki WagonR EV
Another highly anticipated electric car on the way, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR has been on the roads for two decades and has been with almost every household as their little sedan. It has seen many updates over the three generations, with the latest being a bigger one and a bigger chest. This car will never go off the road, proof that an electric version of the WagonR has been spied on during road tests. It is expected to be priced at ₹ 8 lakh and hit the streets next year.
